Mercury is now in retrograde until March 10 so expect things to go a bit haywire.
Like all retrogrades, it’s time to step back and go inward to review and reflect. We need this time to assess what is weak or flawed to review, repair, restrategize, redesign, rebuild, and move forward.
Since the planet represents all aspects of communication, we usually associate it with increased misunderstanding. Astrologer Elle Simon says that this period is not the time to start anything new such as a new relationship, a new job, a long term project, or a new career. It is also not the time to enter into binding commitments like marriage, finances without the absolute expectation of necessary modifications, alternative compromises, and reversals in the original plan and intent. She also advised that unless it’s an emergency, it is generally not a good idea to make or go to medical appointments.
The meditation will help you review, repair, restrategize and move forward during the retrograde.
Sit in Easy Pose with a straight spine and a slight neck lock; chin pulled in slightly towards the back of the throat to straighten the spine at the neck. With arms along the side of the body and elbows bent, place the hands in front of the heart center, palms facing each other, fingers pointing up, and spread slightly apart. Stretch the thumbs back, pointing towards the chest. Eyes are focused at the tip of the nose.
Bring the tips of the thumbs, index, and middle fingers together. You could draw a short and wide triangle between the tips of the fingers. The ring and pinkie fingers do not touch and are separated from one another by several inches. Stretch the palms wide apart. Chant the mantra, Wahe Guru.
Repeat the mantra, and this time, holding the mudra, bring the palms toward each another slightly, just until the tips of the pinkie fingers can touch but make sure that the ring fingertips do not touch. Continue the meditation for a minimum of 3 minutes and a maximum of 11 minutes.
There is a bright side to the retrograde!
This period is the best time to look at what you have manifested so far in your life. There’s a reason why we all set intentions at the beginning of a new year cycle, whether it be the Gregorian calendar year, Chinese Lunar New Year, or the Astrological Year, which starts in Aries. The reality is that the collective energy and push that you may need to manifest your intentions may not be there to support you, and it may also be that you need to let go of what’s holding you back from moving forward such as pride, anger, and the desire to control. That’s why it’s important to use this time of the retrograde and reflect and do all the’ – review, repair, restrategize, redesign, rebuild, and move forward.
We’re counting down to the end of the month. If you’re looking for something uniquely different that will help clear energy blockages and help you refocus this retrograde, join the All Night Gong Puja on February 29, leap year.
Seize the challenges of the retrograde. Find and strengthen your roots amidst it.
See you soon.
In loving service,
Rosan
