My sister Chato got robbed last Wednesday! She said it happened so fast! I was surprised because she was in a relatively safe neighbourhood and it was in broad daylight. She withdrew money in the building where the Bank of the Philippine Island is located along EDSA Magallanes.

Her text last Wednesday

When she got to her car, a nicely dressed couple yelled urgently, “May naipit (something got caught)!” and pointed to the front of her car. She got out of her car to check and used her car keys to lock the door. Her purse was gone when she got back, including her wallet, with the money she withdrew!

It was the Salisi Gang modus operandi. This usually involves two or three persons who distract the intended victim while others carry out the theft. In my sister’s case, the couple distracted her and a third person was most likely waiting for her to get down the car. The third person quickly opened the door and grabbed her bag before she could even lock the car. How many seconds do you think it takes to do this?

The Salisi gang usually targets people who drive alone and are negligent in placing their bag, laptop, cellphone, or wallet on the passenger seat. I’m sure that their favorite location would be bank areas. According to the Philippine National Police’s tactics description, they frequent hotel lounges, coffee bars and restaurants.

The good news is, she got her bag back the next day! My sister’s husband, Jonjon, received a call that they found her purse at the 7/11 store in Pasay. The thieves had emptied her wallet, so she got her credit cards back and her driver’s license. 7/11 found the contact info of Jonjon at the back of her driver’s license.

Jonjon wanted to tip the cashier with P500 but he turned it away, saying it was his job to help people. Thank goodness that there are still some good souls out there!

I’m sharing my sister’s experience to encourage you to be more vigilant right now! Always use your locks, don’t leave your bag, laptop and other valuables unattended. If you walk, walk briskly and purposefully and don’t use your phone where someone can quickly snatch it.

And have a mantra for protection:
Recite the Mangala Charan mantra three times to invoke the protective energy of the Universe. It goes: Aad Guray Nameh, Jugaad Guray Nameh, Sat Guray Nameh, Siri Guru Dayvay Nameh. You can use this for guidance and protection for yourself, your kids, home, traveling, and places.

I usually recite this before I drive, fly out and when I”m in new places like hotel rooms, yoga studios, etc.

We are all under a LOT of stress

Join the coffee talk with Madhur-Nain Webster next Saturday from 10:00 to 11:30 am, where she will discuss tools for crisis using kundalini technology, psychology and science. Madhur-Nain is a licensed marriage and family therapist in California, a psychologist and author of the Stressless Brain.

I’ll also be doing an 11:11 meditation on November 11. 11:11 is the number of insight, inspiration, illumination, and intuition. It indicates manifestation into form and communicates that the Universe is ready to give (blessings) if you are ready to receive them. Conversely, the Universe is ready to receive (your intentions) if you are ready to give them. The proceeds of both events will go to charity.

Stay safe always even in this new normal and hang on.

In loving service,
Rosan
