The first time I heard of a “living mountain” was two years ago when I joined the Yatra to the Himalayas, specifically to visit the high and holy place called Hemkunth Sahib (4,633m or 15,200 feet, half the altitude of Mt. Everest).
The Himalayas (pronounced “Himal-yas” by the locals) are some of the few surviving mountains that are living, and have attracted seekers for thousands of years. Jesus Christ was said to have explored Buddhism in Hemis Monastery there during his lost years (12 to 30 years), and they have scrolls to prove that he was there.
During the Yatra I was told that, “Only if one has meditated in the Himalayas in any one life time, does it make one eligible for Nirvana.”
Both trips were an opportunity to visit sacred sites. In 2016, it was the trek to Siri Hemkunth Sahib, the 10th gate of Mother Earth, revered as a Tirath, which has powerful charged fields of consciousness. According to legends, the yogi Rishi Dushat Daman meditated on the mountain for 3.5 billion years. His presence was so radiant that his aura extended 25 miles. Many seekers would come just to be in his presence. He reincarnated as Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Guru, who abolished the ‘guru’ system.
It is said that anyone who chants the “Dhan Dhan Ram Das Guru”, the mantra for miracles before his birthday on October 9, can help you get over anxiety. If you journal, ask yourself these questions: What do you don’t like in your life right now? What aspect do you want to heal – relationships, health, career, finances, etc? Next week is also New Moon so this will be an opportune time to set your intentions. If you want the mantra, do send me a message.
