A reader recently bought an item from #108healingmalas, and was surprised to find out that I was the person behind it. She said “I’m so glad it came from you. It makes it super special.”
These #108healingmalas are specially designed crystals strung delicately by a friend based in Kuala Lumpur who sources the crystals from Jaipur, Russia, and Brazil. I program them with theta healing and infuse with sound healing – using singing bowls, Tibetan bells, conch, and planetary gongs – making them more than something to wear.
Traditionally, a mala is used as a tool to count the number of times a mantra is recited.
Aside from mantras, they are use to count the number of breaths while meditating or the repetition of a Buddha’s name. It consists of 108, 54 or 27 beads or crystals strung on silk thread with one large bead called the Guru bead where a tassel hangs from. The Guru bead marks the beginning and end of the meditation.
We’ve been asked several times before to create a shorter one, a bracelet for the wrist. The #108healingmalas may be worn as a decorative piece of jewelry but really it’s a tool for healing through 108 times repetition.
108 isn’t just a random number, it’s a sacred number.
The number is viewed by renowned mathematicians of Vedic cultures as a number of the wholeness of existence, of completion. They explained that the sun is 108 sun-diameters away from the earth and that the moon is 108 moon-diameters away from the earth.
Sanatan Vidwad Vidyalaya validates this as accurate. He said, based on modern scientific values “the sun is 107.6 sun-diameters from the earth and that the moon is 110.6 moon-diameters from the earth. On September 18-19 the distance of the Sun from Earth is 108 times that of the Sun’s diameter.”
There are more uncanny coincidences with this number. The iconic Stonehenge Sarsen Circle is 108 feet in diameter. In Belize, during the era of the Mayans, the High Temple of Lamanai was erected at 108 feet tall, the same height as the Tikal temple in Guatemala. And within the temple of Kukulkan at Chichen Itza in Mexico, the second pyramid inside measures 108 feet wide.
Even Samuel Aun Weor in his teachings mentions that an individual has 108 lifetimes to transcend the material world. He said in a lecture on the Mysteries of Life and Death, “In the human organic state, the elemental, the Essence, the consciousness, the (or whatever terminology you want to use in order to define it or explain it) once again receives 108 existences for the realization of their Inner Self. .. If the Inner Self realization of the Being is not achieved during the 108 existences then the wheel of life continues rotating and the Essence has to descend again into the entrails of the mineral kingdom with the purpose of eliminating the undesirable elements that in one form or another were adhered to the psyche, thus the same devolving process is repeated.”
If you have a #108healingmala, please program and use it everyday by reciting a mantra or affirmation for 40 days.
There are many mantras to choose from, in English or Sanskrit and even Gurumukhi. Choose the one that resonates with you right now and go with it. Repeating the mantra 108 times will help reprogram the mind, delivering an exact message to the subconscious mind.
To use, the mala is hanging between the thumb and a second finger of the right hand. The second finger can be any of the four which relates to planetary energy: the index finger (Jupiter) for wisdom and expansion; middle finger (Saturn) for patience and discipline; ring finger (Sun) for health and vitality; and the pinkie finger (Mercury) for communication and prosperity. Use the second finger to move one crystal bead toward oneself with each repetition of the mantra.
Here are a few ideas of what to recite:
– For self-esteem and confidence: I am bountiful, blissful and beautiful
– To transform into the pure exalted body, speech, and mind of a Buddha: Om mani padme hum
– To eliminate karmic blocks and past errors and if you don’t know what to do, when nothing else works: Gobinday, Mukanday, Udharay, Aparay, Hariang, Kariang, Nirnamay, Akamay
– To awaken your soul to your destiny: Sat Nam
– For protection against attacks, give new power to your words and bring luck: Sa Re Sa Sa
– To stop anything negative and removes all kinds of obstacles: Ek Ong Kar Sat Gur Prasad
If you want to recharge your crystals, lay it out during a full moon or infuse it with sound healing. The next full moon is on December 12 (1:12pm Manila time). If you don’t have a sound healing tool, bring your malas to any of my sound healing gong bath sessions.
But even if you don’t have a mala, find opportunities to recharge from within. Tomorrow will be a whole day of healing from Balance Your Chakras Workshop at 10am to Dream Big 2020 at 1:30pm. As time just hurdles on to the very last day of the year and towards the first day of a new decade, let’s keep on blooming.
In loving service,
Rosan
