We don’t have to wait for this day to be grateful.
It was Thanksgiving day yesterday, and people in the U.S. celebrate it as a day to get together with loved ones to give thanks. All well and good, but imagine giving thanks every day. It is, as Yogi Bhajan described, ‘The Highest Way of Living’. When you live with an attitude of gratitude, you are saying yes to life and telling yourself that life is good.
Having the attitude of gratitude is the highest vibrational virtue a person can have and practice. It is having a deep appreciation of what you have in your life and seeing gifts in each obstacle that comes your way. And get this — expressing gratefulness can improve your overall sense of well-being. It reduces stress, makes you sleep longer and better, generates happiness, and reduces depression and toxic emotions ranging from envy and resentment to frustration and regret.
Sharing a meditation that you can do everyday to keep you in this vibration frequency:
Sit in Easy Pose with a straight spine, extend the right arm in front with the arm up at a 45-degree angle with the palm flat and facing the ground. The arm is relaxed, no need to keep straight.
Place the left hand flat on the heart center. Close the eyes and look deep into the navel point. Imagine that you are an angelic being, blessing the universe and all people, good and bad, even those who hate you.
Use the word Bless in your mind, constantly and consistently. Let you heart open, feel caring and kind. Bless for 9 minutes then bless yourself for 2 minutes.
To end, Inhale, hold the breath as long as possible and circulate the blessings throughout your body. Exhale. Repeat this sequence twice for a total of 3 times.
Relax.
