When I teach Kundalini Yoga, I often remind my students that our glands are much more than just physical organs—they hold our vitality and creative energy. When overall balance is disrupted, it affects our whole being—body, mind, and spirit.
For example — we usually think of ovaries in women as just a part of reproduction, but they’re really powerful centers of life force. The ovaries work like little alchemists, carefully balancing estrogen and progesterone. Estrogen helps build strong bones, keeps skin glowing, supports vaginal health, and keeps our moods steady. Progesterone is like a calming friend—it prepares the body, soothes the nervous system, helps us sleep well, and balances out estrogen. When these two hormones flow in harmony, we feel vibrant and balanced.
As women go through perimenopause and menopause, the natural shifts in hormones often bring hot flashes, mood swings, sleep trouble, and energy changes. These shifts are the body’s way of adjusting to a new rhythm, and they call for gentle care and support.
That’s where Kundalini Yoga becomes a powerful ally. Through breathwork, kriyas, and meditations, we can support |the glandular system, calm the nervous system, and restore balance.
One of my favorite practices for hormone balance is Shabd Kriya. This meditation is deeply effective in harmonizing the endocrine system, making it wonderful for PCOS, perimenopause, or menopause support. It helps ease tension, improve sleep, and bring the body back into its natural rhythm.

Meditation to nourish your hormonal health and support you through all phases of womanhood.
Here’s how to do it: Sit comfortably with your spine straight, allowing your hands to rest in your lap with palms facing upward, right hand over the left. Keep your thumbs together and pointing forward. Gaze softly on the tip of your nose to maintain focus. Inhale slowly and evenly in four equal parts, mentally vibrating the mantra Sa-Ta-Na-Ma with each breath. After the fourth inhale, hold the breath while vibrate the mantra four times, completing a total of sixteen beats. Then exhale in two equal strokes, projecting the mantra Wahe Guru silently in your mind.
Adding this meditation to your daily routine can truly nourish your hormonal health and support you through all phases of womanhood.
