Yesterday’s New Moon in Taurus was quite special since it coincided with the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.
It’s quite ironic that this pandemic has done a lot in cleaning Mother Earth. In a month’s time, global carbon emissions have dropped, pollution has dropped, waterways are cleaner, the sky is bluer and animals are freely coming out to roam cities. In fact in India, one of the most polluted countries in the world, the Himalayas’ mountain range can now be seen.
Earth Day is an annual event celebrated around the world to create awareness about environmental issues and problems and for people to take action. The event has made a lot of initiatives in the last 50 years.
The first and last time that the Earth Day coincided with the New Moon was 46 years ago in 1974. This must be a sign of a new environmental shift. The New Moon is a powerful time to start anew, to turn intentions to reality.
When the moon is “new”, the sun and moon are in the same sign, which intensifies its energy. Right now, the sign is in Taurus, an Earth, and a fixed sign. The energy is about stability, practicality, trustworthiness, generosity, tenacity, patience, and resilience. This is the energy that we need right now as we experience change, challenge.
Right now, even as we see the environment clearing up, it’s very difficult to feel secure, calm, and contained. But we have the technology to deal with this inner and outer disruption.
Sharing a mantra that will address those feelings, a mantra for chaos:
When you recite this mantra, it said to create a vibration that allows your psyche to readjust itself – Ang Sang Wahe Guru. The mantra is used to eliminate “haunting thoughts, bring peace when there is an emotional imbalance, and to counter the phobias and depression.”
It is recommended to chant the mantra 25 times a day, By doing so, it will “develop intuition in you that you need. It will let you see the unseen, hear the unheard, and know the unknown.”
Here’s a meditation using the mantra to help keep you together, conscious of yourself, and ready to act no matter what the circumstances are:
Sit in Easy Pose, chin in and chest out. Apply a slight neck lock. The eyes are focused at the tip of the nose. Bring your ring finger and thumb tips together and put it on your knees. Breathe consciously and listen or chant Ang Sang Wahe Guru for 11 minutes.
Whether you are alone or with people you love, always stay safe and look out for each other.
In loving service,
Rosan
