Vernal equinox is next week!
This is happening on March 21 (12:15 am, Manila time).  This event happens two times each year – March and September – when night and day are of equal length. The US Naval Observatory Almanac explains it as, “The time at which the Sun passes through either of these intersection points; when the apparent ecliptic longitude of the Sun is 0 degrees or 180 degrees.”

The period also marks the beginning of the astrological New Year as the sun enters the first sign of the zodiac – Aries the Ram, the explorer and hero of the zodiac, the leader of the pack and thus, symbolizing new beginnings and a new sense of identity.  In yogic science, this is the ‘day of equal light’ where yogis and sages have known as an important time for meditation, for recharging, renewal and rebirth. Jai Dev says, “When the light of the day and the dark of the night are equalized, a special ‘window’ opens. It is a moment in time that is conducive for great clarity, intuition and heightened energy.”

This whole week starting tomorrow is primed to refresh, reset, reconnect with your Self and take action in your life. The new moon will be in Pisces, the last sign of the Zodiac, tomorrow (9:11pm, Manila time). The energy will help you reflect on what changes to make in your life specifically on the hurts that you have been nursing and bring a sense of acceptance, forgiveness and completion to the past. Then the Equinox on Wednesday, March 21 which will bring lots of energy. And then, Mercury goes retrograde on Thursday, March 22.

Here are three things that you can do to tune in to the energy this week:
1. Go on a Moon Diet.
Consume only water for 24 to 48 hours. This offers a way to cleanse the body and prepare the mind for greater clarity and focus. When you fast, your entire body rest and healing occurs.

2. Spring Clean
De-clutter your space and let go of things you no longer need.  Donate items that you haven’t used in the last 6 months or so. Clean out your home, rooms, office, car as well as your thought and belief patterns that no longer serve you. This retrograde period, ask yourself: how would I like to rewrite my story?

3. Set Intentions
Tune in the energy of the Equinox, decide what this astrological new year to bring for you and set your intentions to help you get there.
