Hello, long weekend!
It’s a long weekend and some of you may be off somewhere enjoying the holidays. I am grateful for the time to stay in Manila and finally catch up on my reading and enjoy the time with my family who I hardly see now since my weekends are for teaching.
Gratitude is a form of self-care
Have you ever thought of what it means to be grateful? In the United States, they have Thanksgiving in the month of November to encourage people to be thankful for what they have. It is celebrated every 4th Thursday of the month of November and is regarded to be more important than Christmas, as the whole family gets together for a traditional turkey meal.
The dictionary definition of gratitude says it is the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness. It is the highest vibrational virtue a person can have and practice. It is having a deep appreciation of what you have in your life and seeing gifts in each obstacle that comes your way. And get this — expressing gratefulness can improve your overall sense of well-being.
Studies have shown that grateful people are more agreeable, more open and less anxious. It strengthens relationships, deepens connections and makes it easier to accept others and be more forgiving.
The attitude of gratitude is a powerful tool as it reduces stress, makes you sleep longer and better, generates happiness and reduces depression and toxic emotions ranging from envy and resentment to frustration and regret.
We don’t have to wait for Thanksgiving on November 22 to be grateful. When you live with an attitude of gratitude, you are saying yes to life and telling yourself that life is good. Yogi Bhajan said that the attitude of gratitude is the highest way of living, ”You cannot live with applied consciousness until you understand that you have to be grateful for what you have. If you are grateful for what you have, then Mother Nature will give you more.”
It’s two months left to the end of the year, so try this:
Find a peaceful place and reflect on how your year has been and where you are in terms of your goals. Write down the great ten things that are already present in your life – the people, places, advances, things, whatever you have now. As you do this, you will realize that abundance already exists in your life and you open yourself up and allow more abundance and opportunities to flow to you.
Let go, dream big, activate energy this November

Dream Big this 2019!
We have the Release Cold Depression series for three Thursdays, Activate the Energy of Gratitude through Scent and SoundHealing on November 18 and the Dream Big 2019 intention setting and healing workshop on November 24.
Journey and bloom on, everyone. Enjoy and rest well over the long weekend, and hope to see you soon.
In loving service,
Rosan
