Forecast: The start of a whole new seven year cycle
Last Tuesday marked the beginning of a whole new seven year cycle as the planet Uranus moved into Taurus, which rules money, Earth, food, territory, and values. Astrologers described this period as the great awakening and can be chaotic requiring flexibility, adaptability, thinking outside the box, patience and resetting priorities. The last time Uranus moved signs was March 11, 2011, the day of the Earthquake in Japan (Fukushima) and the birth of the Arab Spring which set a fire for mass social uprisings around the world.
Foreverconcious explains, “Whenever a slow moving planet like Uranus moves signs, it creates a ripple effect that is felt throughout the entire cosmos, and brings a new energy for all of us to explore… During this shift of energy, it is likely that we will all experience an awakening of some kind. We may also receive new insights or exciting new opportunities may come our way… As Uranus moves into Taurus, we are all going to be given some new lessons, and this time it’s all about our feelings of security and stability. While Uranus is all about change, growth, and awakening, Taurus is all about consistency, security, and stability… These two energies are not exactly the perfect match, so there may be a push-pull feeling, and you may find it difficult to make or accept certain changes.”
Note that anything that is chaotic in your life is created by the mind. In the 28th Pauri of the Japji, it says, “By conquering your mind, you can conquer the world.” The mind is given to you to serve you, not to control you. This is what I have been espousing as a theta healer and kundalini yoga teacher – To learn how to control your mind so that it will help you instead of making you fearful, limited and unfulfilled.
This is a good time to start programming to be joyful.
Happiness can easily be generated by targeting your hormones but Joy is a state of being. In the emotional scale from 1 to 1,000, Joy is at 540 vs Love at 500, followed by peace at 600 and enlightenment, the highest at 700-1000. The lowest is shame at 20, guilt 30, apathy 50.
Sometimes life does not treat us well, through experiences such as a breakup, health issues, financial devastation, job issues, or even the death of a loved one. These transitions or challenges are all aspects of life, and we will all experience them in varying degrees until the day we die. Joy is a conscious commitment to be happy, to have a sense of contentment for the moment – despite life’s challenges.
Once you commit and have a steady focus on joy, you will feel the inspiration to acknowledge it in your life. As you do a momentum develops, you will continuously be receiving joy in your life. Things that you’ve been asking for will start flowing into you. In an atmosphere of joy, manifestations will happen, and science has shown how it can positively affect our mood as well as our health.
Here are 5 tips for staying joyful
1. Take a walk every night before going to sleep. It does not have to be more than 15 minutes. When you walk, you should not be thinking about anything else, just walk for 15 minutes. Observe your surroundings and maximally perceive it, everything in it – the nature, leaves on the trees, even the birds that are chirping. When you learn to do it more often, your feeling of joy will soon follow. You will find delight where you did not see it before.
2. Bring joy to others by offering a smile, greet ‘hello’, a thank you, extend kindness, politeness or even a little gift. They will appreciate that you thought about the and that you cared. And you will experience joy, your action that will come back to you as happiness.
3. Laugh at yourself, watch a movie to make you laugh; share or listen to funny stories. There is a saying “blessed are they who are able to laugh at themselves, for they will never cease to be amused.” There is something great about not taking yourself too seriously.
4. Be grateful and find the positives in life. Say out loud what you are grateful for everyday. Write a gratitude journal. Gratitude is often referred to as the shortcut to happiness. The more grateful you are, the happier you feel.
5. Lastly, forgive. As we learned last month, you can’t keep carrying a grievance and hope to be happy. Forgive others and yourself releases you from the past and changes your future.
May you find joy in this tumultuous period and welcome the changes that it brings.
In loving service,
Rosan
