Jupiter, the planet of plenty and wisdom, will be going into retrograde. Unlike Mercury, which goes retrograde three to four times a year, Jupiter only goes retrograde once a year for a longer duration of 120 days. This Jupiter in retrograde period, starting on September 4 and ending on December 31, is said to slow down progress and put active changes and new opportunities on hold.
Six or seven planets in retrograde is rare! The last time this happened was from late July to September in 1984. For this year, we have Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, Pluto and Jupiter in retrograde, providing a profound opportunity for deep emotional exploration. This may be time to reevaluate your approach to success and your personal or professional progress. Take time for introspection and inner spiritual growth, as it is crucial for your aspirations and dreams to manifest.
Astrologer Lisa Stardust advises us to be cautious during this time, particularly when it comes to trusting people too quickly. Overlooking red flags is a risk we should avoid. Instead of overthinking matters, let your gut and instincts guide you. She says, “If anything doesn’t feel right, then it’s time to let it go — at least for now.”
To help you navigate this Jupiter in retrograde period, I’m sharing this chanting meditation practice that you can do.
Sit with a straight spine in Easy Pose or on a chair. Extend your index fingers (Jupiter fingers) of both hands and lock the other fingers with your thumbs. Chant the mantra “Sat Nam Wahe Guru” in the following manner: Touch your Jupiter fingers to the floor on either side of you while saying “Sat.” Bring your Jupiter fingers together over the top of your head while saying “Nam.” Repeat this pattern for “Wah-hay” and “Guroo.” Practice this meditation for a minimum of 5 minutes or a maximum of 22 minutes. To conclude, take a deep inhale, hold the breath for 10 seconds, exhale, and relax.
Jupiter retrograde is an opportunity for second chances. Remember to embrace this pause, trust your instincts and let the wisdom of the stars guide you. And as always, at whatever point you are in your own journey now, I wish nothing but for you to keep on blooming to be your fullest and truest you.
In loving service,
Rosan
