All in good time from Bangkok! I was excited to join an in-person Level 3 yoga training, but unfortunately, it had been canceled for the second time. I took it to mean that the universe has other plans for me especially this Lunar eclipse.
As I explore this vibrant city, I am filled with a sense of adventure and curiosity. According to my transit astrology chart, this is the perfect time to broaden my horizons, through travel, trying new foods, and immersing myself in cultural experiences. It’s an opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and have some fun.
In a few days, I’ll be heading to Koh Pha Ngan for a weeklong detox retreat. During this retreat, I will be practicing fasting, taking psyllium husk and bentonite clay shakes, probiotic shakes, engaging in colonics, doing daily steam room sessions and of course, yoga and meditation. After being on the go for the last ten months, this retreat will allow me to focus on self-care, pausing, resetting my body, cleansing and nourishing it from within.
I had planned this detox retreat three months ago but had just found out that it aligns serendipitously with the current Eclipse corridor.
The recent solar eclipse and the lunar eclipse on Sunday, October 29 at 4:24 am are significant astrological events that can bring about profound inner transformations, and the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Taurus invites us to reflect on what is out of balance in our lives while presenting an opportunity for deep spiritual growth.
We are now in the period of Scorpio, encouraging us to look deep into our inner selves, let go of what no longer serves us, and nurture the areas of our lives that need attention. This reflection allows us to recognize our past successes, lessons and accomplishments as we move forward into the next phase of our lives.
To support you during this lunar eclipse, I want to share this short, two-part meditation for emotional healing and release.
By clearing our subconscious mind, we can create positive shifts in all areas of our lives. This is what Kundalini Yoga is all about – freeing ourselves from past programming and living abundantly.
Here’s how to do the meditation this lunar eclipse: Find a comfortable seated position either in Easy Pose crossed-legged on the floor or sit in a chair. For the first part, bring your hands together at your heart center. Interlace your fingers, pressing the palms into the body over the heart. Forearms are parallel to the ground, sticking out like wings. Slightly pull your hands apart and take a deep breath in through your slightly pursed lips, allowing your cheeks to be sucked in. Inhale powerfully and quickly, maintaining a quick pace of about 20 breaths per minute. Do this for 2 minutes, then inhale deeply and hold your breath briefly.
For the second part, bring your hands down and focus your attention on the point between your eyebrows. Visualize yourself as a candle flame, burning away any limiting beliefs, past traumas, and negative subconscious patterns. See the flame purifying your thoughts and emotions, leaving behind only positivity. Continue this visualization for 3 minutes. To end, take a deep inhale and hold your breath, filling your mind with pure, positive thoughts. Then, sit quietly in this neutral space, allowing your consciousness to expand infinitely.
As the lunar eclipse season unfolds, I am grateful for the transformative experiences and self-care practices that have guided me on this journey. May this eclipse season bring transformative opportunities for all of us to release what no longer serves us and embrace new beginnings.
In loving service,
Rosan
