Here are good reasons for building up your aura
In the yoga tradition, the aura is an extension of the physical body, extending out from 3 to 9 feet and serves as the body’s first line of defense, a protective shield. As we prepare to go out of the homes we’ve been in for so long, I’m sharing some tips on how to strengthen your aura before we venture into our “new normal”.

Have you ever wondered why we gravitate towards people who are happy and stay away from those who are unpleasant? We can feel their energy or their vibration, their vibes. All you have to do is trust what you sense.

We’re like a sponge that accumulates all kinds of energy every day from thoughts, emotions, and attitudes projected by others including everything from the environment like germs and diseases. Right now, the pervading collective energy is fear, and the condition is Covid-19. When you enter an office, church, or mall, we are unaware that our aura is already overwhelmed by the toxicity of the environment.

Our aura ends up harboring all these unwanted energies. The integrity of the aura gets compromised and becomes depleted, congested, dented, torn, or may even have energy cords attached to it. That’s why we end up feeling drained, tired, down, unbalanced, depressed, anxious, or suffer from headaches, migraines, and other illnesses.

Tip: Check your aura and cleanse it regularly. It’s like personal hygiene, where cleaning benefits your health and everyone else around you. With an uncleaned aura, you could suddenly snap at your loved ones and become unpleasant to others around you.

An aura cleansing will help make you feel more healthy, strong, vibrant, happier, and balanced. Here are some ways to cleanse:

1. Sunlight is a natural energy purifier. A simple 15- minute walk under the sun stimulates the flow of energy.

2. Standing outside facing the wind with your arms, outstretched will help release unwanted energies.

3. Swimming in the sea or soaking in a saltwater bath will help cleanse the aura and draw out stress. If this isn’t possible, soak your feet in a saltwater bath or scrub a handful of sea salt all over your skin before showering to remove dead skin cells and refresh your aura.

4. Cold showers or what the yogi’s call ishnaan hydrotherapy can clear away negativity, remove toxins, improve circulation, and draw out stress.

5. Sound helps dissolve negativity and clean energy—singing bowls, bells, the ultra-powerful gong, and even chanting mantras.

6. Crystals can be used: citrine or amber to help strengthen the aura; smoky quartz to protect from other people’s stresses and negativity; kunzite to detach unpleasant thoughts; selenite to draw out negative energy and align chakras; and tourmaline to strengthen the immune system and helps in relieving fever, pain and other physical issues.

7. Smudge sticks. Do get a high-quality product. Sage clears airborne bacteria in space and releases negativity. It also gives wisdom, clarity, and spiritual awareness.

I hope these tips help you. It’s essential to be mindful of people and avoid going to places that zap your energy. Try your best to keep your involvement in such situations minimal and always cleanse yourself to keep your aura secure and, thus, keep you healthy, vibrant, and resilient.
