Raising Consciousness through the Gong
Today is the last day of the intermediate advance gong master training with the Grand Gong Master Don Conreaux, and it’s been an amazing experience with him. He’s 84 years old and has been teaching for 50 years, and mind you, he travels by himself. After today, he is off to London to orchestrate 160-gong masters for the Guinness World Record for the largest gong ensemble in the world at 3 pm (London time) and the Gonging for Humanity concert at 7 pm.

We, all fifteen of us here, are fortunate to be the first group to learn the secret formula of the gong using the Fibonacci series and the other number series. He said that when you do the pattern, the guru within the gong will begin to speak to your inner consciousness. It’s just like doing a sadhana (meditation) for a certain length of time, 40 days or more. He said the sonic consciousness of the gong will transform the player, a transvolutionary process. He called it the magic door to akasha, to the universal consciousness.
The gong is a shamanistic power tool that creates an inter-dimensional Merkabahah (Light/sound vehicle), which operates in magical ways based on the universal principal of Sacred Geometry. It has the power of de-materialization (cessation of the sense of physicality), levitation, rejuvenation, inner peace and immortality.

The gong master plays a great role in changing the cells of the people that are listening to it. The great cosmic energy changes the DNA and the RNA inside of the human being and all life. It has the power to change the reptilian nature of people into an angelic higher force. This type of quantum shift in humanity is going on right now as more people are getting into gong baths. He says, “When the gong is struck, the process of continuous tone reproduction generates an opening into this non-material world of AUM and AOM. There, the senses are mixed together and no longer function as the independent tools of three-dimensional perception. The person disappears into and then becomes inseparable from the gong sound of holistic resonance and experiences samadhi.”
This is all the extension of the universal gong in our life today. This simply means when a gong master plays the gong, he or she is connecting people’s individual existence with a greater existence of Universal Truth, pratyhara, the cosmos. He joked that all gong masters has inadvertently become gong warriors to shift the consciousness of all beings.

Sunday is a memorable day! It’s the birthday of my teachers’ teacher, Yogi Bhajan, who initiated sound healing to the world by introducing both the gong and the conch in 1969. It is also the birth date of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, and Don Conreaux’s Gonging for Humanity concert in London.
Wherever you are, try to chant long Ek Ong Kar for at least 11 minutes (watch video here). This is traditionally chanted for 2.5 hours on Yogi Bhajan’s birthday early in the morning (during amrit vela) hours. It is said that chanting this mantra awakens the Kundalini energy and opens the chakra and if chanted for 40 days, will liberate the soul from the cycle of karma. We chanted this for 2.5 hours last year and this year, you can join a sangat who will be chanting this on Sunday at Anam Cara in Bel Air for 31 minutes at 3 pm.
