Fun fact: Our glands are most active during the full moon…
Which is why we feel very emotional and reactive. When we channel this energy, it gives us the opportunity to accelerate emotional healing. As the full moon affects the tides of the ocean, it also affects the tides in us – beings made of 70% water. It is said that those who have not trained their minds through meditation are especially susceptible to extreme mental fluctuations on this day.

This particular Full Moon in Gemini, the last full moon of the year and decade, carries strong release energy. It puts emphasis on rebirth, inner reflection, and contemplation on the lessons learned so one could carry them into the coming future and this is of the new decade.

Here’s a meditation that I taught in the Full Moon Eve Sound Healing Gong Bath last Wednesday.
Yogi Bhajan referred to it as the ‘impossible-possible” meditation. He said that the meditation will help redeem all negativity of the past and present, smooth out your day-to-day problems, and create a positive tomorrow. It will changes luck and allows prosperity to flow. If you do this regularly, or even up to the New Year, you’ll be able to clear the blocks from your own karma. It will allow you to let go of the attachments to the mind and the impact of past actions as you envision your next 10 years.

To do the meditation:
Sit in Easy Pose, with a light neck lock. The eyes are 1/10th open and focus your gaze at the point between the eyebrows. Place the wrists over the knees, hands in Gyan Mudra, with the arms and elbows straight.

The meditation is in three parts. The first part is to chant the mantra Sa-Ta-Na-Ma on a single breath as you press the fingertips of each hand sequentially: Sa as you press the thumb to the index finger; Ta, thumb to middle finger; Na, thumb to ring finger; and, Ma, thumb to pinkie finger. Use a monotone voice for 11 minutes.

After 11 minutes, part two is to inhale deeply and suspend the breath. Move your body in a slow twist and stretch motion. Move each muscle of the body. Move the head, torso, arms, back, belly and hands. Then exhale powerfully. Repeat this 5 times. And lastly, part three is to sit straight and look at the tip of the nose for 3 minutes.

After 3 minutes, to end, inhale and suspend the breath for 30 seconds as you physically move and shake your body. Every muscle must be stretched, squeezed and turned around, from the muscles in your face, head and neck, down to your toes. Exhale. Repeat this 3 more times. Then inhale, sit calmly and concentrate on the tip of your nose for 20 seconds.

Exhale, and relax.
