If you’re experiencing delays, miscommunication, or having issues with your computer, it’s because it’s that time of the year. The planet Mercury stations retrograde until November 3.
The planets move in a prograde motion from west-to-east and periodically change from east to west or retrograde motion. Mercury retrograde, being close to the Sun, takes 88 days to complete one revolution.
As the planet slows down it is a good time for us to slow down and to pay attention to our intuition. It is said that during Mercury retrograde, our meditative right-brain becomes stronger and our analytical left-brain is less dominant. The result is that it’s easier to tune into our heart and listen —a time to allow us to receive downloads and upgrade our awareness level.
According to Intuitive Astrology, this Mercury retrograde is in the water sign of Scorpio and has been going retrograde in water signs in the last two years which won’t happen again until September 2022. This last retrograde in a water sign makes it “one of our final opportunities to open to the intuitive energies we can receive.”
Note though that the planet Mars is also stationed retrograde. Mars is the planet of drive, passion, energy, ambition, aggression, and war. It goes retrograde every two years, and when this happens, we lack the fuel that drives us to act and feel lazy and unmotivated. Anger and frustration may also come up, which may lead up to stress.
With all the retrogrades happening, this is time to slow down, tune inward and meditate. May you sharpen your intuition the last few months of the year and into the next.
