My hair has been falling due to stress! That isn’t the most inviting of openings, but it is true. A lot has been going on, with tending to my sick Mom and overseeing kitchen renovation at home. I have not been entirely happy with how renovations have been going on, but true to practice, I am trying to find and learn the lessons from this.
For the kitchen renovations, I opted for price over skill, and I’m paying even more for it. One of the crises that I encountered was having to re-plaster the wall. I ended up hiring a mason to correct the problem, which added more to the delay.
There will be delays, especially with an ongoing pandemic, and it’s advisable to have a buffer of about 20-30% contingency costs. I’m grateful that a friend recommended her contractor for other work and that he can accommodate me and start work next week.
The stress is compounded by the fact that I’m home with all the noise, dust, and workers. I’m not used to being with people every day anymore. So my stress level has gone up, making me anxious about the choices that I’ve made.
For myself and those who need it: keep up with the practice and keep doing Sadhana to stay steady and calm.
For myself and those who need it: keep up with the practice and keep doing Sadhana to stay steady and calm.
Calm doesn’t always incur a monetary cost, but it requires time. Like you, I’m sometimes torn over making time for my own Sadhana, especially with so much to do. But, I find it helps keep my well-being and sanity in place. It allows me to think clearly and function well, especially when things become chaotic and disruptive, which increases my stress level.
Do message me if you need to do a sadhana to help you stay calm and stable. We’re also going to need it when Mercury goes into retrograde on Monday until October 17.
For next month, the new 8-class series will focus on Strengthening the Lungs.
On the emotional level, the lungs store grief, sadness, and anxiety to release these emotions. And on the mental and spiritual level, the lungs, when cleared of blockages, allows us to take inspiration from life. And as the covid virus directly affects the respiratory system, it is imperative to strengthen the lungs and get them into better shape.
This, too, shall pass. Deep breaths everyone, and have a great week ahead. Hope to see you in class.
In loving service,
Rosan
