Tonight’s Lunar Eclipse coincides with the Full Moon. It’s a penumbral eclipse that slightly darkens the Full Moon’s face. If you’re up, you can witness this tonight from 11:14 pm until 3:31 am with the maximum coverage at 1:22am.
Today’s Full Moon is also the celebration of Wesak, the most sacred day for Buddhists around the world.
It was on the Day of Wesak two and a half millennia ago, in the year 623 B.C., that the Buddha was born. It is said that at this time of the year, Buddha returns to bring New Light to the world and to help regenerate the earth. That is why, as many Buddhists believe, the Wesak Moon is the most potent moon of the year, and we can tune in to the high, spiritual energy.
This lunar eclipse is in Scorpio, a sign of profound transformation. The energy is all about change and reaching higher levels of consciousness. It is highly cleansing and may help release things that are no longer serving, holding you down.
Scorpio’s ruling planet, Pluto is currently retrograde (begun May 1, unearthing deeply buried wounds. Mercury is still in retrograde (until May 14), bringing up old issues so you can have a new perspective on your life. With this combination, heavy energies will likely stir your deeper emotions, and things from the past may arise. That’s why you may feel on the edge, exposed, vulnerable, or slightly confused. Remember to treat retrograde periods as a divine, cosmic gift from the Universe to help you slow down, pause, take a break to go inward, and do everything that starts with “re”: reflect, review, re-evaluate, reassess, release, remove and re-create.
I’m sharing this meditation to call upon your Divine Feminine energy, the Adi Shakti.
The meditation uses the Adi Shakti mantra. It taps into the creative power of manifestation in the Universe. It helps drop insecurities, eliminate fears, and fulfill desires.
Gurucharan explains, “This mantra invokes the [Creativity] that is in each of us, and that is the power of creative manifestation throughout the Universe. As you open yourself to this constant creative becoming and movement of the Universe, you move naturally to drop insecurity and beyond blocks that come from a more limited perspective. In this meditation, you sit with and embody the primal, constant creative power of the Universe.”
How to do it: Sit crossed-legged or in a chair with a straight spine. Place your hands in front of the heart center with the arms parallel to the floor. Both palms face down with the left palm 2 to 3 inches above the right hand. Focus your eyes open or closed as you wish. Chant or sing the mantra “Adi Shakti”. Chant for as long as you want, for 11 minutes or more.
Mantra: Adi Shakti, Adi Shakti, Adi Shakti, Namo Namo, Sarab Shakti, Sarab Shakti, Sarab Shakti, Namo Namo, Pritham Bhagvati, Pritham Bhagvati, Pritham Bhagvati, Namo Namo, Kundalini Mata Shakti, Mata Shakti, Namo Namo
Most astrologers and ancient practices regarded the Scorpio Full Moon as one of the most potent times for reaching out to ancestors and guardian spirits. They believe it to be one of the best Full moons for manifestation work.
Take the energy in, do try the chant. May what you manifest come to fruition.
In loving service,
Rosan
