I received news with a heavy heart that my mentor, Tarn Taran Kaur, passed away peacefully in the early morning of July 28 in Espanola, New Mexico.

I first met her n 2017 during the very first Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training in the Philippines. It was a deeply transformative experience,  one where I felt welcomed into a larger purpose and community. Her gentle, insightful presence truly saw me, helping me recognize strengths within myself that I hadn’t yet discovered.

Because of her guidance and encouragement, I took my first steps to become a trainer in the Aquarian Trainer Academy (ATA) progressing from intern to Associate, and now, stepping into my role as a Professional. Her nurturing and steadfast support shaped not only my path, but the journeys of so many women and teachers she touched around the world.

Tarn Taran Kaur was a true pioneer.

She has been teaching Kundalini Yoga since 1972, alongside her husband, Tarn Taran Singh, planting roots across Europe and especially in Germany, where they founded Guru Ram Das Ashram in Hamburg, the Golden Temple Vegetarian Restaurant, and laid the foundations for the early Yogi Tea company. Yet, beyond the milestones and institutions, it was her belief in people, especially women, that made her extraordinary.

In 1978, she created the Conscious Pregnancy Training program, uplifting thousands of women and teachers globally to meet pregnancy and motherhood with awareness, dignity, and grace. Her teachings, writings, her entire life’s work have touched countless lives, offering a guiding light for living with courage, consciousness, and authenticity.

What stays with me most is her grounded strength, honest wisdom, and unwavering support for women to step fully into their power. She led with love, humility, and humor, always encouraging us to rise beyond self-imposed boundaries. I am one of many forever changed by her presence, continuing forward with her teachings at the heart of how I serve.

As our community evolves, Tarn Taran Kaur’s spirit remains a steady foundation, her transformative impact living on in every conscious breath, every heartfelt kriya, and every woman who walks her path with courage.

May her soul be embraced in light. Thank you, dear teacher, for everything. Your legacy lives within us all.

In loving service,

Rosan
