I am on my way back to Manila. Our last day of the Kundalini Yoga Level 2 training in Tzukim was a trek up to the mountain to contemplate our relationships and the stories we created.

Tzukim is a non-agricultural community settlement in the Arava Desert about 3 hours away from Tel Aviv by car. It is nestled within the long valley that stretches from the Dead Sea to the Gulf of Eliat and between the Negev Plateau highlands and the border with Jordan. It was hot during the day and cool at night and early morning.

Of all the five modules I’ve attended, I liked this one the best.
We were a small and intimate group of 16 students. The majority were from Israel, four Europeans and myself. Everything during the training was communal. We were five people in a dome (mud hut), the bathroom and toilets were separate and we did our part in cooking and washing of the dishes. It is in the spirit of Yogi Bhajan’s words, “Sometimes each person’s load can only be taken collectively. Collectively we can pull the weight.”

More than the work, it is as a commune that we grow — out of respect for each other and harmony.

Part of the journey is the venue was in the desertt where we were settled in stillness, nature and silence. Far away from the noise and bustle of Manila and in an unfamiliar land, it helped me recollect and become more mindful of all that is around me. I highly recommend, with the hurry of the holidays upon us, that you too find a time and place of disconnection and complete peace.

This was key in our workshop topic: relationships, specifically the relationship to Self and others. It was intense and had several realizations about how I’ve been through the years. As I write this on the road back, I still have a lot to process. Expect my classes and the next few letters to talk more about this.

See you on Sunday for Scent and Sound Healing to Complete Your Goals.

While it’s nearing the last full week of classes before we break for the holidays, may you continue to journey on and bloom. Never stop growing.

Sending you prayers and blessings from this Holy Land.

In loving service,
Rosan
